El periodismo científico en España y las nuevas tecnologías de la información (TIC): Mapa de la situación y propuestas de actuación para mejorar los procesos comunicativos entre científicos y periodistas

The project aims to open a new line of research in communication studies, which have paid little attention to science journalism, often considered a very complex and thorny issue to be approached systematically. The central objective is to develop an accurate map of the field of science news journalism in Spain and, especially, to evaluate the implementation of new technologies in national media. It is sought to value if they are underutilizing the tools that science journalists have to popularise science. Other objectives are to propose courses of action to improve communication processes between scientists and journalists, and to establish quality indicators of science journalism. An innovation in relation to previous researches is that the scientist actor will be part of the study, because he is a key actor in the communication process.
